Gift Orban has been one of the sought-after talents in Europe after a breakthrough season at Gent that saw him registered 20 goals in 22 appearances
Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly made contacts with the camp of Nigeria’s Gift Orban over a move to White Hart Lane this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
The North London club are working on replacing star striker Harry Kane, who sealed a lucrative £100m move to Bayern Munich on Friday. They have reportedly made a list of possible replacements for their all-time highest goalscorer.
Ange Postecoglou’s side, who finished a distant 8th position in the Premier League last campaign, has identified Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson as their primary target, but manager Steve Cooper doesn’t want to sell Johnson, and this might push the London club to turn their attention towards Orban, who has been identified as another target to replace the English striker according to Daily Mail.
In another development a few days ago, transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed Tottenham has a concrete interest in the Gent striker to replace the 30-year-old Kane.
However, they have reportedly been in contact with Orban’s representatives and are expected to make offers for the 21-year-old, who is valued at £30m by Gent in the coming days according to Sacha Tavolieri.
Orban has continued from where he stopped last season, contributing five goals for Gent this new season, and the icing on the cake was a perfect hat trick in their 5-0 victory over Pogon Szczecin in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League played on Thursday.
