Calvin Bassey recently sealed a £21m move to Fulham after spending a season with Ajax Amsterdam in the Netherlands
Nigeria’s Calvin Bassey scored the winning goal as Fulham claimed a 2-1 win over German side TSG Hoffenheim in their final friendly game at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports
The 23-year-old recently joined the West London club from Ajax on a four-year contract. He made his debut for Fulham in their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in another friendly game a week ago, coming on at half-time to replace Luc De Fougerolles .
Bassey was named in the starting lineup in his second appearance for the Cottagers and rewarded with an excellent performance that came with his first goal for the club.
Former Wolves striker Raul Gimenez gave Fulham the lead six minutes into the second interval, but their lead only lasted less than six minutes before Grischa Promel equalised for Hoffenheim from a powerful header.
The Super Eagles defender scored the matchwinner for his club 13 minutes from time. Bassey jumped highest to head home from Andreas Pereira’s corner.

Fulham will now shift their attention toward their first game of the new Premier League season away at Everton next weekend.
Marco Silva’s side ended last season in an impressive 10th place position and will aim to move higher on the table in the new season.
