Ndidi gives Forest reason to hasten transfer after sterling performance for Leicester City at Tranmere

Ndidi has been heavily linked with a transfer to Nottingham Forest, and he has shown them a taste of what he can offer

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi got off the bench to nick a goal and an assist to lead Leicester City to a 2-0 victory over Tranmere, Soccernet reports.

Ndidi has not been at the level that he showed in the Premier League two years ago. The 26-year-old midfielder has struggled with injuries and loss of form. Unfortunately, he got relegated from the Premier League with Leicester City last season.

This season, Ndidi has gotten a more advanced role at Leicester City under Enzo Maresca. He started from the bench when the Foxes travelled to Prenton Park to play Tranmere.

After a barren first half, coach Maresca introduced Ndidi in the second half, and that proved to be the vital decision.

The Super Eagles midfielder combined well with Cesare Casadei in the 55th minute to score the opener for Leicester City.

Four minutes later, Ndidi turned provider as he set up Jamie Vardy, who scored the Foxes’ second and put them in a comfortable position.

Ndidi’s brilliance turned out to be the difference between the two teams as Leicester City claimed a 2-0 win.

The Nigerian midfielder’s days at the King Power are numbered, as Nottingham Forest are seriously interested in signing him. His performance against Tranmere could convince the Forest hierarchy that he is the right man.
