Akor Adams recently sealed a £4.5m move to Montpellier after spending the last 8 seasons in Norway with Sogndal and Lillestrom
Former Flying Eagles striker, Akor Adams, has been included in the Ligue 1 team of the week following his impressive debut for Montpellier, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old joined La Pallaide from Norwegian side Lillestrom last week and was trusted with his first appearance in their Ligue 1 home fixture against Le Havre and rewarded with 2 goals.
Adams drew his team level in the 58th minute following a powerful header despite being surrounded by Le Havre defenders. He got his second and gave Montpellier the lead just two minutes later after getting a through ball from Kiki Kouyate, the Nigerian striker showed his killer instinct with his shot into the bottom right corner.
However, Le Havre scored in the 90th minute from Samuel Grandsir to earn a share of the spoils. Adams will aim to continue his goalscoring run when La Pallaide travel to Lyon in their next Ligue 1 match on 19 August.
His inclusion in the best eleven was announced on Montpellier’s Twitter handle. He was the only player from Montpellier that made the team.
Adams registered 15 goals and 2 assists in 15 appearances for Lillestrom in the Norwegian Eliteserien last campaign and these impressive stats caught the attention of Montpellier, who fought the interest from other clubs to bring him to France.
