Nottingham Forest and Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has made a remarkable streak of scoring in six consecutive Premier League matches setting a new record for Nigerian players, Soccernet.ng reports.

Awoniyi displayed his prowess by opening the scoring for Nottingham Forest in their clash against Sheffield United at City Ground.
The Nigerian was on the receiving end of an accurate cross from Ivorian defender Serge Aurier in just the fourth minute, promptly heading the ball past Wesley Foderingham.

Although the visitors managed to level the score early in the second half, Aurier’s delivery found Chris Wood, who secured Steve Cooper’s first victory of the 2023-24 Premier League season.
Sitting comfortably in the eighth spot of the league standings, the Reds have their sights set on continued success as they prepare to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 26th.
Despite playing 83 minutes against Sheffield, Awoniyi, currently nursing an injury, is determined to make his mark when they take on the Red Devils.
