FIFA Women’s World Cup: “We are good side”- Super Falcons defender confident ahead of England tie

Super Falcons and Deportivo Alaves centre-back, has utmost confidence in her side’s quality to get over the line with England in Brisbane.

Super Falcons centre back, Osinachi Ohale, has shared her thoughts ahead of their round of sixteen tie against England and has maintained confidence in the quality of the Nigerian side, Soccernet.ng reports.

Deportivo Alaves and Super Falcons defender, has maintained confidence in her team’s ability to deliver against England, admitting that whoever puts in the most grit into the tie will most likely reap the rewards of continuing the tournament for a while longer.

Ohale, who scored the second goal in Nigeria’s tie against Australia to send the girls up, albeit taking a kick to the stomach, maintains The Lionesses are a good side, but is also firm in the Super Falcons’ ability to deliver.

The thirty-one-year-old has started every game for the Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup so far and will be looking to repel every England attack on Monday, at the Brisbane Stadium.

Speaking to Victor Modo about England’s route against China and ahead of the game against the Lionesses, Ohale said;

“We also defeated Australia to get to the round of sixteen, and China is China, not Nigeria. England is a very good side, and they have quality players, no doubt.”

Speaking of the quality in the team’s side, she said;

“We also have quality players as well to match up with them as well. It’s going to be a good game, and it’s going to be a tough game, but I think whoever wants it the most will get away with it.”

The Super Falcons will be in action against England on Monday at the Brisbane Stadium, Australia in a make-or-break tie.
