24-year-old Super Eagles winger joins Al Arabi

Former Enyimba forward, Anayo Iwuala, has joined Kuwait side, Al-Arabi, in a deal that is reportedly up to $250,000.

Twenty-four-year-old Super Eagles winger Anayo Emmanuel Iwuala has signed permanently for Kuwait Premier League side, Al Arabi Sports Club, Soccernet.ng reports.

The fleet-footed winger donned the shirt of Nigerian Professional League side, Enyimba, before leaving the shores of the country to join Tunisian side, Espérance de Tunis in the summer of 2021, scoring the only goal to help the team win the Tunisian Super Cup. That would go on to become the only goal he would score for Espérance.

He would, however, spend the next season on loan at the Algerian side, Chabab Riadhi de Belouizdad, scoring four goals in twenty-three appearances for the club.

Having had a stellar season away from his parent club, Iwuala's skills caught the eyes of Kuwait side, Al-Arabi, and they splashed a fee of about $250,000 to secure the services of the Nigerian.

Anayo Iwuala made his debut for the Super Eagles under the tutelage of the former head coach, Gernot Rohr in Nigeria's African Cup of Nations qualifier win over Benin Republic in late March 2021 and has gone on to make a total of five appearances for the Super Eagles, from 2021 till date.

With a move to the Asian club, and with eyes from all over the world, if the twenty-four-year-old winger can step up his game and prove he is worth the transfer feed paid for him, he is likely to become a Super Eagles regular before long, and could be on the move to a European club side in the nearest future.
