The Super Falcons will be looking to make history when they travel to Australia/New Zealand for the Mundial

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) hosted the Super Falcons to a dinner at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja ahead of their departure to Australia/New Zealand for the World Cup.

Soccernet.ng reports that the Super Falcons will make their ninth appearance at the FIFA World that begins on the 20th of July in Australia/New Zealand.

Despite their dominance on the continent with nine titles, Nigeria are under-achievers on the World stage as they have never passed the quarterfinals.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the team, especially with the back-and-forth between coach Randy Waldrum and the NFF.

Nonetheless, the team is set to travel to Australia to ramp up their preparations for the World Cup. But before that, the NFF hosted the team to a dinner.

Top officials of the NFF were in attendance, including President Ibrahim Gusau. Also, the top players like Asisat Oshoala, Onome Ebi, and Rasheedat Ajibade were present. However, Waldrum did not feature in the video posted by the NFF.

The Super Falcons play their first game against Canada on the 21st of July at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. Then six days later, they will square off against Australia.

Their last game will be against the Republic of Ireland.
