‘Very high spirits’- Super Falcons captain Ebi sends message to Australia ahead of W’Cup Group B clash

The Super Falcons will play their second game of this year’s edition of the Women’s World Cup against the Matildas of Australia in Brisbane on Thursday

Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi says the team is confident in going to their second game against Australia in the ongoing Women’s World Cup, Soccernet.ng reports

On Friday, the Super Falcons began their campaign with a goalless draw against Canada at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

They will take on Australia at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Thursday before their final group match comes up against Ireland four days later.

Nigeria and Canada are leveled by one point. At the same time, the Matildas, on the other hand, occupy the first spot after a 1-0 victory over debutants the Republic of Ireland in the other Group B opening fixture.

Speaking ahead of their game against Australia on Thursday, Ebi has revealed that the Falcons are ready to give a good account of themselves against the tournament’s co-host

We are in very high spirits, I can tell you Ebi told thenff.com It’s a day after the massive point, and we are already looking forward to our second match. The Aussies will not be easy, but we knew before arriving in Australia that no team in this tournament will be easy

Their match against the Aussies will start at 11 a.m. Nigerian time. Only the top two teams are guaranteed progression to the tournament’s next stage.
