Nottingham Forest has made an exciting addition to their squad with the signing of defender Ola Aina, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigeria international has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, becoming Forest’s first signing of the summer transfer window. The contract also includes options for the future, giving the club flexibility beyond the initial term.
The versatile Nigerian defender joins the City Ground outfit after departing from Torino, where he spent nearly five years and made 102 appearances in Serie A.
The 26-year-old, who started his football journey at Chelsea’s academy, has an impressive track record, winning two FA Youth Cups, two UEFA Youth League titles, and a U21 Premier League title while at Stamford Bridge.
Having represented England in various age groups, Aina decided to play for Nigeria in 2017 and has since earned 30 international caps for the Super Eagles.
Aina impressed during his time at Fulham, making 33 appearances and showcasing his abilities with a spectacular strike that earned him a nomination for the Premier League Goal of the Season Award.
He would now don the same jersey with his countrymen, Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis, who joined the Tricky Trees in the last summer transfer window.
