The Toffees are looking to bolster their attack this summer, and they have identified Iheanacho as a good option
English Premier League side Everton are interested in signing Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City, Soccernet reports.
The Toffees had a tough campaign in the Premier League last season as they had to wait till the last day of the season to secure their place in the league.
Everton struggled for goals, as they scored just 34 goals in the Premier League. Neal Maupay failed to click, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was injured for most of the campaign.
Following their struggles in attack, the Toffees have now identified Iheanacho as an option. According to Football Insider, Everton want to add the Nigerian striker to bolster the attack. The 26-year-old forward clinched the Player of the Season award at the club after registering eight goals in 31 appearances.
There has been a lot of talk suggesting that Iheanacho would leave the King Power this season, and Nottingham has been touted as the most likely destination.
He may cost around €18million according to Transfermarket, but Leicester City could let him go at a cut price because his contract will expire at the end of next season.
If the deal eventually works out, Iheanacho will be the second Nigerian at Everton alongside Alrx iwobi.
