Osimhen has attracted a lot of interest from abroad, but Napoli want to keep him

Italian pundit Enrico Fedele has urged Napoli to keep Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen because he can help them retain their Serie A title next season, Soccernet reports.

The Partenopeans won their first Scudetto in 33 years last season, and Super Eagles star  Osimhen played an important role in their success. The 24-year-old goal poacher scored 26 goals in the Serie A in the run-up to Napoli’s win.

Osimhen also won the Capocannoniere last season, becoming the first African player. His heroics last season have attracted a lot of clubs around Europe, with Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester United all in the mix.

However, the former Lille man may not leave the club as Napoli want to extend his deal. Osimhen’s deal expires in 2025, but the Partenopeans want to extend it till 2027.

Italian pundit Fedele has urged the Serie A champions to keep Osimhen because he believes that the Nigerian star will help them retain their title.

“This year, there is a real revolution in Naples. It’s not over yet,” Fedele said per Tutto Napoli.

“If Napoli can hold back Osimhen, he will help them win Serie A because he will keep making them stronger while the other teams have weakened.

Napoli have not done a lot of business this summer. They are set to lose Kim Min-Jae to Bayern Munich, but they are yet to get a solid replacement.
