Inter Milan conclude plans to take Nigerian teen wonder on Asia tour

Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have finalized plans to include Nigerian teenager Ebenezer Akinsanmiro in their preseason training tour this month, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 18-year-old midfielder joined Milan in January this year to bolster the Nerazzurri’s Primavera side. He made 14 appearances for the youth team and provided three assists during this period.

Akinsanmiro ended the second half of the season on a high, making the first-team bench as Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia.

Having signed a contract with Inter that runs until June 2026, Akinsanmiro’s future seems secure.

And according to reports from FcInterNews, the young talent is already earmarked for a prominent role.

Inter Milan have concluded arrangements to include Akinsanmiro in their preseason training camp with the first team.

Head coach Simone Inzaghi will closely evaluate the Nigerian player during this period. However, for the upcoming season, Akinsanmiro will primarily feature for the Nerazzurri’s Under-19 team, which is set to compete in the Youth League.

Despite receiving multiple transfer requests from other clubs, Akinsanmiro is currently deemed non-transferable by Inter. The club aims to continue his development, building on the progress he made last season.

Later this month, Akinsanmiro is expected to be in the Inter Milan squad that will travel to Osaka, Japan, where they will face former Asian champions Al Nassr. Subsequently, on August 1, the team will clash with French champions PSG in Tokyo.

Inter’s first Serie A match of the 2023/24 season is scheduled against Monza at the San Siro on August 19.
