The Super Eagles winger has completed a permanent transfer from the Greek giants to the Turkish Super Lig side, Adana Demirspor…
The Turkish Super Lig side, Adana Demirspor, have triggered the option to buy Super Eagles international winger, soccernet.ng reports.
Onyekuru, who spent the last season on loan with Turkish Super Lig side, Adana Demirspor, featured in twenty-eight league games for the club side, and turned out with eight goals and two assists that helped the club side secure fourth position in the league, meaning they will be playing the Europa Conference league qualifications next season.
The Nigerian winger, who was loaned from Olympiakos, forty-five time winner of the Super League Greece with an option to buy last season, has just sealed a final move to Adana Demirspor
According to reports in the Turkish press, the club exercised the buy option included in the 26-year-old’s loan contract, triggering a transfer fee of 3.5 million Euros, and securing a three-year deal for the winger.
Onyekuru’s stellar performances in the league were more than enough to convince Adana Demirspor to sign him on a permanent deal, and it now looks like the Nigerian has finally found his feet after making lots of transfer moves in recent years, but barely settling in.
In the last six years, the Nigerian has signed for Everton, Anderlecht, Galatasaray, Monaco, Olympiakos, and Adana Demirspor.
After having a season to forget with Olympiakos, where he scored just a goal in twenty-seven appearances, Onyekuru will be looking to surprise the Turkish big boys next season and go as far as possible in the Europa Conference League. The Nigerian international will attend Mavi Imekler’s camp in Düzce Topuk Plateau in Turkey.
