Renowned Super Eagles legend, Nwankwo Kanu, was captured sharing his knowledge with Omonia Nikosia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho in a throwback video from the 2018 World Cup, Soccernet.ng reported.
During the tournament held in Russia, Kanu, known for his illustrious career with Arsenal, was seen doing what he loves best—mentoring and guiding young talents.
The video showcases Kanu engaging with the 18-year-old Uzoho, providing him with valuable insights and advice.
Unfortunately, the Super Eagles’ journey in the tournament ended prematurely as they were placed in a challenging group alongside Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland.
Despite their efforts, a 2-0 defeat to Croatia, a 2-1 defeat to Argentina, and a 2-0 victory against Iceland were not sufficient to secure a spot in the next round under the leadership of Gernot Rohr.
During these matches, Uzoho, identified by Rohr at the age of 17, made his debut in November 2017 against Argentina, featuring for 45 minutes.
The young goalkeeper solidified his position in the team and played a crucial role in World Cup preparations, featuring for the full 90 minutes in friendly matches against England and Poland.
In the heartwarming video shared by Kanu, he can be seen conversing with Uzoho, providing guidance and motivation.
He wrote on his social media page: “Throw Back KAN U BELIEVE IT 💪 @fifaworldcup Doing what I love in and out the field, passing my knowledge and tips to our younger ones.@positivevibesonly That’s the difference of who you are abeg Biko please don’t know all and keep all to yourself 😂 I thank God🙏”

Despite Nigeria’s overall performance in the tournament, the experience was undoubtedly memorable for Francis Uzoho.
Uzoho has accumulated 29 caps for the national team and has embarked on a successful journey, playing for various European clubs.
