Report: Villarreal slap ₦42billion price-tag on Chukwueze as Real Madrid initiate talks

Chukwueze has been heavily linked to Real Madrid in recent weeks, but Los Blancos would have to fork out a huge fee for the deal to happen

Real Madrid have opened talks with Villarreal for the transfer of Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze, but the Yellow Submarine are demanding ₦42billion(€80million) for the deal to happen.

Soccernet.ng reports that Chukwueze has been on the radar of Real Madrid since the turn of the year. However, the talks intensified after the Nigerian forward scored two goals and assisted against Los Blancos when both teams met at the Santiago Bernabeu last season.

Chukwueze’s contract at Villarreal expires at the end of next season, but he is unwilling to extend his stay at the club. There have also been talks of a possible transfer to Tottenham or Arsenal.

However, the 24-year-old forward may remain in Spain. Top Spanish outlet, AS Diario reports that Real Madrid have started talks with Villarreal for the tricky, Nigerian winger. But the Yellow Submarine are want €80million before they sanction the transfer.

According to Transfermarkt, Chukwueze is worth €20million, but Villarreal could choose to ask for more because of the interest that the Nigerian has garnered. West Ham and Aston Villa are also some of the clubs that are interested.
