Osimhen, Chukwueze among Nigerian players in Europe who could command decent fee in transfer market

The majority of the leagues in the 2022/23 European football season have been concluded, with teams already looking forward to improving their squads ahead of a new season. Nigerian players have always been around to take part in determining the fates of these European sides.

From Ibrahim Olawoyin plying his trade in Eastern Europe with Caykur Rizespor in Turkey to Calvin Bassey with Ajax Amsterdam in the Netherlands in Western Europe. Nigerian players are spread across Europe.

The transfer window is already opened for European club sides to shape their squads to their preferences ahead of the coming 2023/24 European season. Soccernet.ng digs out the Nigerian players that could command a decent fee in this transfer window.

Victor Osimhen

The Napoli forward is just coming out from his best season as a professional footballer. His outstanding achievements for Napoli had his name mentioned throughout Italy and also across Europe.

His 31 goals last season help Napoli to its first title in over three decades, and also the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time in their history.

He was the Italian League top-scorer last season and is also now the African player with the highest number of goals in Italy's top-flight history. With the current state of the transfer market, the 24-year-old will command a good few should Napoli decide to cash on their striker.

Samuel Chukwueze

The Villarreal midfielder is still young at just 24 years of age and has long years ahead of him in professional football. Chukwueze has been a good player for Villareal these immediate past years.

He plays regularly for a club that compete consistently for a European spot in one of the top five leagues in Europe. He will bring a good amount for Villareal in this transfer market if the Yellow Submarine decide to sell their star player.

Taiwo Awoniyi

The 25-year-old was Nigeria's best player after Victor Osimhen in Europe's top five leagues last season. His 10 league goals were most important to Nottingham Forrest's escape from relegation last season. A proven talented player formerly in Germany and now in English Premier League.

The former Union Berlin striker will bring a decent transfer fee in case his service is not needed anymore at the City Ground.

Kelechi Iheanacho

The former Manchester City had mixed feelings at Leicester City in the just-concluded season in terms of contributions and results.

The 26-year-old five goals and five assists in the League were unable to keep his team in the English top flight. He was awarded Leicester City's best player for last season. He's still young and could go for a relatively decent amount of money should he decides to embark on another journey.

Alex Iwobi

The former Arsenal player was at the thick of the action last season for his Everton club who escaped relegation to the English Championship on the last day of the season. He has been one of the most important players for the Merseyside Club since joining the club in the summer of 2019. He's currently playing for one of the traditional clubs in English football history and he should command a considerable fee in case his club needs some cash.
