Adeleye looks like Onana's twin, but he is adamant that they are not alike
Super Eagles goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has stated that he is unsure of the semblance between him and Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, Soccernet.ng reports.
Adeleye is currently on the books of Israeli side Hapoel Jerusalem. He was one of the best goalkeepers in the Israeli top flight, recording eight clean sheets in 20 games, albeit he conceded 20 goals.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper is returning to the Super Eagles squad for the first time since the World Cup break last October as he was not invited to the games against Guinea-Bissau earlier this year. Adeleye has revealed that he is happy to be back in national team action.
“I feel good, I feel honoured, I'm grateful to Almighty God, I'm happy to be back,” Adeleye told Soccernet.
Meanwhile, he has a striking resemblance with Chelsea target Onana. However, he has stated that he is different from the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
“They say I look like Andre Onana, but I don't know, I play my own way and he plays his own way as well. They say we are similar but I'm not so sure,” Adeleye added.
With the absence of Francis Uzoho, the Hapoel Jerusalem shot-stopper is set to man the sticks for Nigeria as he is the highest-rated goalkeeper in camp.
