The young striker is one of Nigeria’s best performers in Europe this term, and he could be set to move to one of the continent’s biggest clubs
AC Milan remain keen on Nigerian forward Victor Boniface as a potential target this summer in the event that negotiations for their primary target, Marcus Thuram, become complicated, Soccernet.ng reports.
While Thuram remains the top choice for the new Milan management, there is also interest from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in securing the striker’s services.
Consequently, the Rossoneri may explore other options in the transfer market, and one name that has emerged is Victor Boniface, who spearheads the attack for Union Saint-Gilloise.
According to reports from Sempermilan.it (via PianetaMilan), Milan could shift their attention to Boniface if negotiations for Thuram prove to be challenging.
Boniface’s valuation is relatively moderate and could fit within Milan’s budget for the transfer market, with an estimated price tag of around 10 to 15 million euros.
Victor Boniface has established himself as one of Nigeria’s standout performers in Belgium and Europe. The 22-year-old joined Union SG on August 2, 2022, for a fee of 2 million euros, but his stock has risen significantly since then.
In the current season, the former Bodø/Glimt forward has made a remarkable impact, contributing to 34 goals (22 goals and 12 assists) in 55 games.
Notably, he netted six goals in the Europa League, securing his position as the joint-top scorer in the competition.
Boniface’s achievement marks the first time a Nigerian player has topped the scoring chart in the Europa League. As a testament to his exceptional performances, he was also included in the Europa League Team of the Season.
The youngster’s talents have garnered attention from several clubs in Italy, England, and Germany, with Eintracht Frankfurt being one of the latest teams linked to him.
