Wilson Oruma reveals true health status

There were reports that the former Super Eagles star was seriously sick and needed help, but he has put those rumours to bed

Retired Super Eagles star Wilson Oruma has rubbished rumours making the rounds that he is seriously sick in the hospital, Soccernet.ng reports.

Oruma played a big role in Nigeria's gold medal win at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He had 19 caps for Nigeria and played for some teams in Europe like Marseille, Nimes, Sochaux, and Guingamp.

However, he has been away from the public eye for some years. There was a report that he was seriously sick and needed help recently. However, the 46-year-old has now clarified that he is perfectly fine. He also appreciated the concern that people have shown for him since the report.

“Much love to everyone,” Oruma said in the video.

“Thank you for the support you have shown to me and my family. I'm healthy and I feel so good. I never knew people loved me so much.

“I appreciate and celebrate you all. Thank you all. I made this video to show that I'm good, and healthy. One love Naija

At the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, Nigeria won the gold medal, in large part thanks to Oruma. He played for some teams in Europe, including Marseille, Nimes, Sochaux, and Guingamp, and he earned 19 caps for Nigeria.
