Orban had scored in his previous two games for Gent, but he took it a notch higher at the Jan Breydel Stadium
Nigerian striker Gift Orban scored a hattrick to spur Gent to a resounding 4-0 victory over Cercle Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium, Soccernet.ng reports.
Gent traveled to Brugge to play Cercle Brugge in their third game of the Jupiler League playoffs. The Buffaloes won their previous two games, and Orban was tasked with helping them to their third win.
Gent were the better team from the start, but they could not break the deadlock early. However, after Christiaan Ravych got his marching orders in the 22nd minute for two bookable offenses, the game opened up.
Hugo Cuypers opened the scoring for Gent in the 41st minute, but that was just a tip of what was to come.
Gift Orban took hold of the second half, scoring six minutes after the restart. Then, he doubled his tally in the 64th minute, before completing his hattrick three minutes later to ensure it ended 4-0.
The victory further extended their lead at the summit to eight points. Orban now has five goals in the playoffs, and his hattrick was his third since January this year.
It will be suicidal not to cap this guy next month, the mistakes made in the case of Beer Eze shouldn’t be repeated.
I mean Ebere Eze
please, how old is this lad?. Is he up to 20 years old? If no, why couldn’t he be in the flying eagles team in Argentina? The boy is a goal – machine.
Our football administrators should be alive to the task of scouting the best footballers of Nigerian blood everywhere they’re. Gift should be cap tied before it’s too late. A stitch in time they say, saves nine.
