Five coaches are reportedly being considered by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to take Jose Peseiro's position as head coach of the Super Eagles after a period of twelve months, soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles lost their World Cup tickets for 2022 to Ghana and exited early from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, and the Portuguese manager took over for the former Nigerian star Augustine Eguavoen as the headcoach.
The Nigerian national team has not been playing at its best under the former Sporting CP boss since May, losing six games and winning three of eight.
According to a recent OGN report, the 63-year-old could be overseeing the Super Eagles' last matches in June if his contract with the Nigerian football federation is not renewed.
The source further stated that two Nigerian coaches, particularly Salisu Yusuf, the head coach of the Nigeria Under-23 team, and three international coaches have been suggested to replace the gaffer.
The former Venezuelan head coach will manage the 2013 AFCON winners through the last AFCON qualification games, which OGN claimed may be his final matches.
Rumours suggested that the native of Portugal could be having a contractual dispute with the Nigerian football organisation, but neither party has responded to the rumours.
NFF you people and this Salisu Yusuf, what did you NFF see in this Man all the time Salisu Yusuf still he is not performing well, why don’t you people try another coachs or is he Salisu Yusuf the only local coach we have in Nigeria, you guys ( NFF ) are playing with Nigerians football national teams ooo.
Salisu that could not qualify U23 for Olympics is the one to take the mantle from Peseiro? Why NFF always making wrong decisions?
Why can they try Oliseh, or Emanuel Amunike if they insist on local coaches. . But foreign coaches, my first choice is former Zambia coach and Cote Voure. He made Zambia to win Afcon, Glen hoodle etc
Yusuf failed to qualify home based eagles to CHAN, failed to qualify our Olympic team to the Olympics yet he was welcomed back to Super eagles as an assistant coach.
Nduka Ugbade failed to qualify our U17 to the world cup but he was kicked out immediately even before returning to Nigeria from Algeria.
It’s only in Nigeria that serial failures are always welcomed while the good ones are either not considered or shown the exit. He is even backed as Peseiro successor.

AS WE ALL KNOW THAT EVERY SECTORS IN NIGERIA HAVE COLLAPSE AS A RESULT OF SELECTING A WRONG LEADERSHIP ( E.g prison-warder becoming a minister of sport, Cow-herder becoming a minister of Lawyer OR farmer becoming a minister of Engineering). THEN TELL ME HOW IS HE GOING TO FIX THE SECTOR PROPERLY. THE SAME THING HAVE EXTENDED TO FOOTBALL. THEY EMPLOYED A WRONG COACH TO HANDLE SUPER EAGLE. And that is the reason why he was fixing the team wrongly by inviting set of wrong players (E.g Academy player-BAMAIYI)/ bench-warmer(E.g. ARIBO, ONUACHU, A.MUSA, OMERUO, IHEANACHO) for last AFCON QUALIFIER.
INFACT, UNLESS WE EMPLOY A RIGHT COACH FOR SUPER EAGLE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO GETTING IT WRONG.
It is really sad as a once giant of Africa we don’t know the type of coaches we should be employing . it is blatantly clear that choosing Mr Peserio is not the right choice to ticker the eagles because of his pedigree amd.such the result has been failure . This is not Pesaro fault ,the fault belongs to Nogerian minister amd.the former NFA chair man
We should be hiring a high class coach with credentials.to.back it.up.; eg a coach that has been with good team at the club level for so.e time say five years a d a consistent top notch style of play . The former Lyons coach ,or PSG with recent fine tuning of their coaching skills yo.meet that of the modern day football, we should be talking about Mr Salisu with the woes he has plunged the Eagles to.i recent times and bribery : I guess no one e saw that coming right ?

NFF doesn’t wishes Nigerian football well because if those highly paid in office without modern knowledge think wisely, they could have visualise that Super Eagles underachievement since 10 years ago till date isn’t because of Local coaches but political issues instead. Arteta isn’t better Oliseh, Erik isn’t better Amokachi, Zerbi isn’t better than Finidi, Dean isn’t better than Amunike, Joe Peterson can’t be better than Enyeama or Fatawu Dauda but lack of support & confidence is the problem with us, Nigerians. It’s time team 94’ eagles” safe NIGERIA FOOTBALL with the incoming Emi no Kan President and wake NFF up from their sleep before it’s too Late. Safe the Fulus on foreign coaches and build modern infrastructure for Nigeria sports and eradicate Politics & Corruption, Morocco and Senegal isn’t better than Nigeria.
