The Former Manchester United captain was impressed by the recent performance of the Super Eagles forward
Former Manchester United player Gary Neville praised Nigerian sensation Taiwo Awoniyi for his pivotal performance against Arsenal.
The Reds knocked Arsenal from contention for the English Premier League title in 2022–23 by beating the Gunners and gifting the league title to Manchester City.
The Super Eagles forward, on the other hand, shone just in time, scoring his fifth goal in three games to send the Tricky Trees to safety.
Following this, the former captain of the Red Devils hailed the Nottingham Forest star live on air for helping his team clinch a stay in the Premier League.
His goal on Saturday saw him produce a lovely finish after a good ball in by Morgan Gibbs-White which impressed the Sky Sports pundit.
“It’s absolutely incredible. I’ve had them down for weeks. Saturday was a magical day and the goal epitomises what they’re about.
“His run is fantastic, there was still a lot to do. Steve Cooper has proved us all wrong.” Neville said on Monday Night Football, as quoted by Nottingham News.
The Nigerian international had some time to adjust to life in England, but now that he has, he will be remembered as one of those who ensured a Premier League stay for Forest.
The 25-year-old will learn from this season’s experience and eagerly look forward to leading his team to additional triumphs the next season.
