Senegal Under-17 head coach, Salio Dia, made a submission to the Nigeria Football Federation with suggestions for how to strengthen the national football system as a whole, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian national teams across all age groups and genders have not recently impressed the nation or given football fans something to rejoice about.
Following this, the Senegalese coach, who have guided the Senegalese starlets to the final of the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament revealed that the Nigerian football system needs to improve at its best level to win tournaments again.
Burkina Faso ushered the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, widely regarded as one of the most successful teams in Africa for their age group, out the door.
The former Aspire Academi coach complimented the potential of Nigerians but said that the national football association must work on the proper methods to get the most performance out of them.
“When I was a coach at the Aspire Academy, we had about 7 to 10 Nigerian players every year. They are skilful, fast and very talented. Nigeria just need to work with their players in the right way, in order to get the right results in the future.” Salio said, as reported by Teamnigeriauk.
The Nigerian Flying Eagles will begin their U-20 World Cup campaign in Argentina on Sunday, they are anticipated to make the country proud at the event.
