Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis has expressed joy and celebration after Nottingham Forest secured their Premier League status with a remarkable victory over Arsenal, Soccernet.ng reports.

Compatriot Taiwo Awoniyi did the damage as his first-half strike against Arsenal not only handed Manchester City the league title but also sealed another season in the top flight for Nottingham Forest.

Following the triumph, Dennis took to his Twitter handle, stating, “Am getting drunk tonight. Staying up you Redsss.”

This statement reflects his delight and eagerness to revel in the team’s achievement.

Although Dennis did not feature as frequently as he desired throughout the season, with 18 league appearances, 12 of which were as a substitute, he still contributed significantly, netting two goals and providing two assists.

However, it was his international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi who emerged as the hero of the campaign for Nottingham Forest, scoring the decisive goal against Arsenal.

Awoniyi finished as Forest’s top scorer with nine league goals, five of which arrived in their last three matches, including a crucial brace in a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Nottingham Forest’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Arsenal, sealed by Awoniyi’s match-winning goal, solidified their position in the Premier League, granting them 37 points from 37 games.

As the 18th-placed team trails behind with only 31 points and two games remaining, Forest’s triumph ensured they avoid relegation irrespective of the outcome of their clash with Crystal Palace on the last day of the season.

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest from Watford last summer after impressing in the Premier League last season.
