Leicester City have been dangling in the relegation waters in recent weeks, but they got a vital win against Wolves on Saturday

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho believes that Leicester City’s 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers would signal the start of good things at the club Soccernet.ng reports.

The Foxes have been in abysmal form in recent weeks, losing nine and drawing one of their last ten games. Because of their poor run of results they were drawn into the battle to stay alive in the Premier League.

However, Leicester City returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Wolves. Iheanacho scored from the spot 22 minutes after Matheus Cunha gave Wolves the lead. Then Timothy Castagne scored the clincher to ensure that the former Premier League champions ran out with the victory.

Iheanacho was in high spirits after the game, and he believes that the win could be the turning point for the club as they look to avoid the drop.

“I think the win against Wolves gives the fans hope and it gives everyone hope to keep supporting, because so many people had doubted about our qualities, our togetherness and our football, everything,” Iheanacho told the Leicester City’s official site per football mad.

“It’s a breath of fresh air. We really dug in well to get the three points. We really worked hard to get them. We have a strong character and obviously when we went a goal down, we didn’t stop pressing, we didn’t stop playing.

“We kept going and kept pushing each other to get the goal. We are really happy, sticking together as a group, doing this together with everybody – the staff, the players and the fans. We’re all proud and hopefully we keep that form in the next game.”

Leicester City have seven games left, and they are barely separated from the relegation zone by their strong goal difference. Iheanacho would hope that he teammates can end the season on a high and avoid the drop.
