AS Roma forward Tammy Abraham has become Napoli’s first-choice replacement for Victor Osimhen, should the Nigerian striker receive a monstrous offer in the summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng understands.
As per Corriere dello Sport (via Siamola Roma), there is no confirmation of any specific offers for Osimhen yet. However, the report suggests that a bid in the region of €120 million could be enough to lure him away from the Serie A outfit.
The report also lists Victor Boniface and Rasmus Hojlund as possible heirs to the Nigerian’s throne, although Abraham is said to be in pole position.
Abraham, who joined Roma from Chelsea for €40 million in 2021, has long been on Napoli’s radar, and the Italian club reportedly has him in their notebooks as a low-cost option.
Boniface, a 22-year-old Nigerian striker who plays for Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium, has also caught Napoli’s attention after scoring 20 goals this season. AC Milan are also reportedly interested in the exciting Boniface.
Meanwhile, Hojlund, a 20-year-old Danish striker who has flourished at Atalanta, has impressed with his quality since arriving in Italy.
If Napoli fails to secure any of the above players, they could turn to Beto, a 25-year-old striker currently playing for Udinese.
Napoli’s owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, reportedly has a plan to keep both Osimhen and Hirving Lozano. Still, he knows that anything can happen in the unpredictable football world.
It is still unclear whether any of these potential heirs will be able to fill the void left by Osimhen, who has been in excellent form this season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions.
