The Super Falcon achieved a landmark as Blaugrana overcame Antonio Toledo’s women to emerge as league queens
Asisat Oshoala has equalled her personal best in terms of goal return as Barcelona secured a 3-0 win over Sporting de Huelva on Sunday evening.
The Nigerian, who was a second half substitute, completed the triumph for Jonatan Giraldez’s side to emerge as league champions for a record eighth time with four matches to spare.

Prior to her introduction for Geyse Ferreira, Barca had taken a two-goal league inside Estadi Johan Cruyff courtesy of Jana Fernandez and Laia Codina.
With seconds remaining, Oshoala found the beat goalkeeper Zala Mersnik having being set up by Fernandez.

The reigning African Women’s Player of the Year now boasts 20 goals in the 2022-23 campaign – to equal her record of league goals scored in a single league campaign.
During the 2019-20 season, she scored 20 league goals from 19 league appearances, while she replicated that feat last term with from the same number of outings.
This time, Oshoala hit that milestone in 24 outings and she could eclipse this number should she find the net once in Barcelona’s next four fixtures (Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Atletic Club and Madrid).
Interestingly, she is three goals short of Alba Redondo’s 23 in the race for Liga F’s Golden Boot.
Last season, the 28-year-old shared the prize with Brazil’s Geyse Ferreira, who managed 20 goals in 27 appearances for Madrid CFF.
Shortly after the completion of the league campaign, Barcelona and Oshoala will shift their focus to the Uefa Women’s Champions League final where they are scheduled to take on either Wolfsburg or Arsenal on June 3 at Philips Stadion, Eindhoven.
