The Super Eagles striker has been superb this season, but he took it to a whole new level on Thursday
Terem Moffi’s goal for Nice against Basel has been named the UEFA Europa Conference League Goal of The Week, Soccernet.ng reports.
Moffi was tasked with leading Nice’s assault on Basel on Thursday, and he carried out his duties remarkably.
The Super Eagles striker has been in consistent form this season despite his switch from Lorient to Nice in January. And he just seems to be unstoppable at the moment.
Nice picked up a decent 2-2 draw from Basel, with Moffi netting a brace for Les Aiglons and Zeki Amdouni also scoring two goals for the hosts.
However, Moffi stole the show with a stupendous overhead kick in the 45th minute. The Super Eagles striker was out of position when Gaetan Laborde sent a cross into the area, but he quickly improvised and struck the ball with an overhead bicycle kick to get his second goal of the game.
His goal was unarguably the best of the night, and it has been named the goal of the week per Europa Conference League.
Because of Moffi’s goals, Nice are favourites to advance to the semifinal of the Europa Conference League for the first time. He would look to replicate that performance when Nice welcome Basel to Allianz Riviera next Thursday.
