Umar Sadiq transferred to Real Sociedad during the previous summer transfer window for around €20.00 million
Super Eagles star, Umar Sadiq, has said he doesn’t consider himself a replacement for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.
He claims he is not distracted by the strain of filling the empty seat left by the Swedish striker, having come to be himself at the Reale Arena.
Isak spent three seasons with Real Sociedad in the city of San Sebastián, and in his 132 appearances for the club, he scored a total of 44 goals and provided 8 assists.
His outstanding play for the Spanish team inspired Newcastle United F.C. to offer Real Sociedad a record deal of €70,000,000.
Following his exit, rumours revealed that the club hit the market for a replacement, and Sadiq’s performance for UD Almería ticked all their boxes.
However, the former AS Roma player, in a chat with The Hindsight Podcast, revealed that he did not move to join the white-blue as a replacement for the former Borussia Dortmund forward.
He remarked, “The way we inside football see it is different from the way other people outside football see it.”
The 26-year-old added: “I don’t see it as a replacement or a big money transfer, and will now start giving myself pressure. I see it as a normal transfer
“I came here to play good football, to help the team and to show myself”
The Nigerian forward has yet to play since September after suffering an injury during his team’s league game against Getafe. Prior to suffering an injury, he was beginning to settle into his new surroundings and had scored three goals in five games for Imanol Alguacil’s team.

The title is impressive. I believe in him to create his own unique way without being compared to anyone.
