The Super Falcons’ new outfit has been revealed by the Nigeria Football Association in preparation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The new jersey is believed to have been the first official uniform designed for the women’s squad to wear during any tournament.

The home and away uniforms that Nigeria’s women’s team would wear when the World Cup competition begins on July 20, 2023, and has its finale on Sunday, August 20, 2023, were made public and shared on the Super Falcons’ social media pages.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup, an international competition for women’s national teams in association football that FIFA hosts every four years, will be held during the World Cup for the ninth time.

This time, it will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, and it is scheduled that Nigeria’s Group B matchup against one of the Co-hosts, Australia, will take place at the Suncorp Stadium.

Hit or miss?

The light green background of the Super Falcons’ home jersey extends from the top to the shorts and socks, with a design at the end of the shirt’s sleeves and on the socks.

The background colour of the away uniform, which includes all designs on the shirts and shorts, is a dark green colour. Nonetheless, the red socks are a brand-new addition to Nigerian outfits for the first time in the country’s football history.

The jersey’s colours are intended to represent the Green White Green colour of the Nigerian flag, however, the red colour and the blue design confound the country’s supporters.

How do you feel about the kits? Do they sink or swim? Or do you think they are in the centre of things?

It should not be about how good their new jersey looks like, it should be about how many trophies they win wearing the new jersies. Wearing new jersies with no victories or match honours to show for it is nothing more than a wet blanket
