Four reasons why Victor Osimhen may not feature in Napoli’s UCL clash against AC Milan

Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, has been absent from the Napoli team owing to an injury he sustained while serving internationally.

While playing for Nigeria in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau, the Nigerian footballer reportedly had a distracting discomfort in his left adductor.

Although, the 24-year-old’s name was left off the lineup for AC Milan’s 4-nil victory against the Parthenopeans in the Serie A league match at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

However, the Nigerian purportedly stated that he was feeling better and would want to travel with the team to face Lecce.

Although he was not named in the Neapolitans’ 2-1 win against Lecce, there has been a bit of debate among supporters about the Nigerian’s inclusion in the team to face Milan.

However, according to a recent report from the club, the Nigerian trained alone both in the gym and during training. Yet, he did not say whether or not he would be fit to play their match against the Red and Blacks.

Due to this, soccernet.ng will highlight the possible reasons the Napoli star won’t play against AC Milan.

Back on the grass:

The Nigerian striker posted a photo of himself returning to the field, which indicated that he would want a little more time to become acquainted with the group after missing two of their games since his return from international duty.

Spending time with friends

Simeon Tochukwu and David Nworah, two of the Nigerian star’s countrymen, were seen hanging out before Napoli’s key match against AC Milan.

His laid-back attitude makes it seem as if he is not prepared for the trip with the team when they depart for San Siro tomorrow.

News from the club

According to a recent report, the Nigerian trained alone rather than with the squad before the team’s journey to San Siro. Of all the team’s qualities, Luciano Spalletti would not want to hasten Osimhen’s return to the lineup.

De Laurentiis’ remarks on his return

According to a previous report from soccernet.ng, Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed the Nigerian international will take a few weeks off before rejoining the team. This suggests that the Nigerian will play against Verona on matchday 30 for Napoli.
