Former Super Eagles invitee Kingsley Ehizibue has given his take on Udinese’s upcoming clash with AS Roma on Sunday.
The Nigerian defender spoke to the official channels of the Serie A (as per TMW) about his team’s prospects in the game against the Giallorossi.
Ehizibue, who is aiming for a Super Eagles call-up, acknowledged that Roma are a tough team to face, especially on their home turf at the Olimpico.
He stated that the Jose Mourinho-led Roma have many decisive players, such as Tammy Abraham, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Paulo Dybala, all of whom possess great quality. However, he also pointed out that Udinese have their fair share of talented players, and he expects the match to be a great one.
Ehizibue said: “I expect a tough match against Roma because we play at their home, at the Olimpico, and you can’t underestimate a team, especially at home.
“They have many decisive players: Abraham, Pellegrini, Dybala, all players of great quality. But we have them too. I’m sure it will be a great match.”
Roma are currently in good form, having won their last two matches against Torino and Verona. They are currently in third place in the Serie A table and will be looking to maintain their momentum with a win against Udinese.
On the other hand, Udinese is coming into the match on the back of an entertaining draw with Monza and will be hoping to replicate their impressive performance in the reverse fixture.
Despite Udinese’s attacking prowess, Roma’s defensive record at home this season makes them favourites to win the match. However, Roma’s limited attacking options may also work in Udinese’s favour. It should be noted that Roma has won eight of their last nine home matches against Udinese in all competitions.
Udinese will be looking to cause an upset against the Giallorossi, while Roma will hope to continue their winning streak.
