Without their star player, Erling Haaland, Manchester City trounced Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday

Super Eagles legend, Sunday Oliseh, showers encomium on Manchester City as they crushed Liverpool on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.

The Cityzens added more salt to the Red’s injury by defeating the visitors by a final score of 4 goals to 1 after coming back from a 1-nil deficit.

The former Juventus great then praised Man City’s ball management throughout the match and criticised Liverpool’s shoddy defence.

Mohamed Salah scored the game’s first goal for the opposition 17 minutes in. But the celebrations could only last 10 minutes as Argentine’s Julián Alvarez tied the score and started a goal-scoring spree for Pep Guardiola’s club.

Iikay Gundogan, Jack Grealish, and Belgium superstar Kelvin De Bruyne all scored goals to give the home crowd something to celebrate after the game.

However, the 48-year-old employed his social media feed to remark on the English Premier League match and to praise the home side.

“Perfect elaboration of give and go to finish in football, and sadly, ball-watching defending, by the opposition. Champagne football by City This afternoon!!” he wrote.

The upcoming league matchup between Liverpool and Graham Potter’s Chelsea, as well as their subsequent matchup against the Premier League leaders, will be far larger fish to fry for the team that has lost two and drew one of its previous five games.
