Dutch and Barcelona legend Patrick Kluivert has joined several other football stars and fans congratulating Victor Osimhen after the Napoli forward scooped another prestigious award.
Victor Osimhen was, on Monday, named the best foreign athlete in Italy for 2022 by Stampa Estera, beating hundreds of other sporting expatriates in the country to the honour.
After receiving the award, the Super Eagles striker took to his Instagram account to express his emotions and appreciation.
“Amazing feeling to be awarded the 2022 Best Foreign Athlete in Italy. Thank y'all for your support. God is the greatest,” Osimhen wrote.
In response to Osimhen's post, former Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert wrote:” Well deserved brother congrats.”
Also among the first to flood his comment section with their well-wishes was former Manchester United ace Odion Ighalo, who wrote: “Congrats bro.
Acknowledging the magnitude of the award, Everton midfielder and Osimhen's international teammate Alex Iwobi said ‘Big'. Napoli teammate Karim Zedadka also congratulated Osimhen.
“Well deserved bro,” Super Eagles winger Peter Olayinka noted.
Atletico Madrid star Reinildo Isnard Mandav also set Osimhen his well-wishes and prayers.
More award is set to follow for Osimhen as he continues to lead Napoli towards a first Serie A title in over three decades.
The 24-year-old is the leading candidate to win the league's top scorer award with his 19 goals five more than his closest challenger.
