WATCH: Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi meets up with his boyhood coach

The 23-man roster put up by José Peseiro for the match against Guinea-Bissau includes the Leicester City defender

Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, reunites with Nduka Ugbade, the coach of the current Under-17 national team and his boyhood coach.

The Leicester City player journeyed back to his country of origin after being called up to the Super Eagles team for their doubleheader match against Guinea-Bissau in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying round.

The Nigerian thereafter honoured the call-up and took advantage of the chance to see his former mentor, now the Golden Eaglets manager.

The defensive midfielder kick-started his European career after a move from Nath Boys to join Belgian side Genk FC, and from there, he has turned out to be a crucial player for the Foxes.

The 26-year-old returned home to appreciate one of his coaches for guiding him to the proper path to become a major football player today.

The video shows the Nigerian star meeting up with the under-17 squad as they get ready for the upcoming CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria and casually shaking hands with his mentor.

The Lagos native referred to the 53-year-old manager as a significant mentor in his football career in the caption of the video shared on his social media feed.

“Good to meet up with the under-17s national team and childhood coach. A very pivotal man in my football career. Always great to catch up,” he composed.

The Super Eagles hero will aim to snap back with his brilliance as Jose Peseiro’s squad takes on their West African neighbours. The Super Eagles star has not had a good run for Brendan Rodgers’ side after his injury stint this season.
