Super Eagles legend hails Morocco after historic victory over Brazil

Morocco became the first African Nation to reach the semifinal of the World Cup at the 2022 edition, and they have proved that their feat was not a fluke

Legendary Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh has praised Morocco’s football development. This comes after their feat at the 2022 FIFA World Cup where they reached the semifinal and their 2-1 victory against Brazil in a friendly game.

Morocco were phenomenal at the last World Cup in Qatar. They saw off Portugal, Spain, Canada, and Belgium on the road to their fourth-place finish.

However, France knocked them out in the semifinal before they lost to Croatia in the fourth-place game.

It looked like the Atlas Lions rode their luck to the semifinals, but they reaffirmed their quality when they defeated Brazil 2-1 in a friendly game on Saturday.

Former Super Eagles midfielder Oliseh has been impressed by Morocco’s recent achievements, and he praised their devotion to developing their football.

“Simply awesome, Oliseh said on his Twitter page.

“The concise “seriousness” Morocco, Senegal, and some African Nations are giving to their football development is not solely beautiful, but will economically bring a positive tsunami-like effect for them.”

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are still struggling to achieve much even on the continent despite the array of star forwards.

Nigeria used to be one of the top countries in Africa. But they have fallen down the pecking order in recent years.
