In a thrilling build-up to the much-awaited English Premier League clash between Chelsea and Leeds United on Saturday, March 4, Chelsea Football Club has released a list of its ten most memorable strikes against their rivals.
The list features some epic stunners from club legends like Eiður Guðjohnsen and Peter Osgood, but one name that stands out is Victor Moses, Super Eagles’ AFCON 2012-winning star.
During the 2012/13 season, Moses scored ten goals in all competitions for Chelsea, one of which was his super strike in the 1-5 demolition of Leeds in the EFL Cup.
The goal, now part of Chelsea’s most memorable strikes against Leeds United, was Chelsea’s third of the match, after coming from a goal down.
Moses, known for his lightning pace, ran at a shaken Leeds defence and found the bottom corner with a powerful effort from outside the box.
Moses’ stay at Chelsea was a successful one as he won several trophies, including the Premier League, the FA Cup, and two UEFA Europa League honours with the Blues. He scored a total of 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 128 matches for the club before leaving permanently in 2021.
