The Nigerian forward’s recent strong performances have caught the attention of some major European clubs
Former Arsenal player Thierry Henry listed three teams that Nigerian international Victor Osimhen could play for in the future.
The Frenchman, who was astonished by Osimhen’s brilliance in Napoli’s 5-nil overall victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in their UEFA Champions League match, sees Osimhen playing for Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain in the future.
The Super Eagles forward scored twice as the Gli Azzurri defeated Frankfurt 3–0 in the Champions League second leg at the Diego Maradona Stadium, giving them a significant victory.
The striker, who has been on fire for Luciano Spalletti’s team, has scored 19 goals in 22 games in the domestic league and 5 goals in 4 appearances in the Champions League.
Manchester United, one of the top teams vying to capture the Nigerian, is intrigued by his exploits thus far in the 2022–23 season campaign.
Henry still thinks the Nigerian can fit in with a number of teams in Europe, even though he would want Erik ten Hag to sign Kane above Osimhen at United.
In response to a question on which teams he might see Osimhen playing for in the future in a Champions League review by CBS Sports Golazo, he said: “We go back to a Chelsea, we go back to a United if I’m thinking Premier League.” he said
“Paris Saint-Germain would look for a nine because they are looking for a nine. So many teams, I’m thinking. Where is a nine missing?
“We know [Erling] Haaland is there [at Man City]. Let’s not talk about Kane and where he’s going to go or maybe stay [at Tottenham].
“But those are the teams that I’m thinking are playing without a nine at the minute, or maybe they might lose one because Paris Saint-Germain sometimes uses Kylian Mbappé inside, and we all know he’s not a nine. Is he going to stay or not?
“But he’s going to go wherever he wants to go. I think he can adapt to a lot of sides.”
Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, has nonetheless declared Osimhen to be off-limits for purchase. But, if the Parthenopeans are able to sell the attacker for the €160.00m they are seeking, they will profit from the sale of the €75.00m attacker.
