The Flying Eagles’ head coach, Isah Ladan Bosso, has expressed his delight with Nigeria’s Under-20 boy’s triumph over Zambia.

In preparation for the 2023 African Cup Of Nations tournament, Ladan’s boys hosted the Junior Chipolopolo at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, and outclassed them in a 6-goal-thriller tie.

The Zambian goalkeeper, Jeban Tembo, displayed his brilliance by denying the Flying Eagles the chance to take an early advantage in the early minutes of the first half.

In the 39th minute, Haliru Sarki proved stubborn as he dribbled past three defenders and broke the deadlock by whacking past Tembo.

Sarki’s lead was, however, canceled by Derrick Bulaya, who volleyed past Nigerian goalie Nathaniel Nwosu.

Adams Olamilekan, who was substituted into the game, restored the lead for Bosso’s men after rising to a corner kick and heading it into the net.

However, not long after this, another substitute from the Zambian side, Lasmond Phiri, headed past Nwosu.

In the game’s final minutes, two substitutes, Samson Lawal and Emmanuel Uchebu extend the boy’s leads to make the final score 4-2.

Ladan, following this result, expressed his delight to reporters saying, “We are happy with this victory because the boys played a good match, yet the team is still a work in progress as we keep our focus on doing well in Egypt,”

Zambian will turn their attention away from the loss to Nigeria to face 2019 runners up, Senegal in their next preparation match, while Nigeria will head to Morocco for their final training camp
