Osimhen was caged the last time the Partenopeans filed out against Inter Milan, but he proved his quality against Sampdoria
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored the opening goal for Napoli in their 2-0 victory over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
After a painful 1-0 loss to Inter Milan last week, Napoli were looking to get back to winning ways when they squared off against Sampdoria at the Luigi Ferraris.
The Partenopeans started on the front foot, and they almost opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Unfortunately for them, Matteo Politano missed his spot kick.
However, the Naples kings were not to be deterred, and Osimhen led the charge.
The Super Eagles striker got on the end of a cross from Mario Rui and struck the ball into the net to give Napoli the lead after 19 minutes.
Sampdoria pushed for an equalizer, but their woes were compounded in the 39th minute after Tomas Rincon got sent off.
Napoli bossed the game in the second half, but they failed to use it appropriately.
Osimhen had a great game. Asides from his goal, he had 42 touches, and one key pass. Eljif Elmas scored the second for Napoli in the 82nd minute to wrap up the 2-0 win for the Partenopeans.
