Salernitana 0-2 Napoli: Ruthless Osimhen steers Partenopei to record-breaking win

Osimhen has been ruthless this season, and he continued with that form against Salernitana

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored the second goal for Napoli in their 2-0 victory over Salernitana.

Napoli were looking to claim a win and extension their lead at the top of the table when they took on Salernitana at the Stadio Arecho.

Osimhen has been outstanding this season, netting twelve goals in the league and he was looking to continue his brilliant run.

However, Salernitana did not make it easy for the Partenopeans. Osimhen scored a sumptuous goal midway into the second half, but it was ruled out for offside.

However, Napoli finally took the lead through Giovanni Di Lorenzo late in the first half.

Napoli were the better side in the second half, and they were rewarded for their impressive play. Nigerian star man Osimhen turned up as usual.

The former Lille man reacted quickest to a rebound and fired a wicked shot past Ochoa in the Salernitana goal to make it 2-0 for Napoli.

Osimhen’s goal turned out to be the winner for the Partenopeans as they saw out the 2-0 victory.

The result ensured that Napoli climb to 50 points this season. According to Opta It ensures that Napoli are the third side in the three points for a win era to have reached 50+ points in the first half of a single Serie A season, after Juventus and Inter.
