The Nigerian strikers were unsung for their clubs on Wednesday, helping them to big wins
Super Eagles prospect Victor Boniface scored and assisted another for Royale Union SG in their 4-0 bashing of Gent in the Belgian Cup.
Boniface was handed a starting shirt by coach Karel Geraerts when they welcomed Gent to the Stade Joseph Marien in their Belgian Cup semi-final tie.
Royale USG took no prisoners, as they started piling the pressure early, and they got rewarded for their early intensity.
Gustav Nilsson, opened the scoring for the home side in the 4th minute. But Royale USG did not stop piling the pressure.
They eventually got their second in the 34th minute, through Lazare Amani, and Boniface was at the heart of it, as he supplied the assist for his goal.
The Nigerian striker eventually got his goal four minutes before the break. Boniface received the ball from midfield after his teammate Senne Lynen had done a good job of winning the ball in midfield.
Boniface then sprinted forward, an with only the keeper to beat, he showed great skill to dispatch the ball into the middle of the net to make it three for Royale Union SG.
The Nigerian striker was taken off in the 67th minute as his side cruised to a fine win. Lazare Amani scored the fourth for Royale Union SG in stoppage time to ensure it ended 4-0. The victory takes Royale Union SG to the semi-final of the Belgian Cup, where they will face Zulte Waregem
Elsewhere in India, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored the equalizer for Hyderabad in their 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin.
Petar Sliskovic put Chennaiyin in front in the 57th minute, but Ogbeche equalized from the spot in the 87th minute to ensure the game ended 1-1.
The result leaves Hyderabad in second place on the Indian League, and Ogbeche now has seven goals after 14 games.
