Moffi shines again for Lorient, Dennis helps Nottingham Forest reach first semi-final in 30 years

The Nigerian strikers were unsung for their teams on Wednesday, helping them record big results

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi took his goal tally to 11 for this season after he scored for Lorient in their 2-2 draw against Monaco.

Moffi has been in spectacular form for Lorient this season, and Monaco coach Philippe Clement was wary of the havoc that the Nigerian striker could cause.

The Super Eagles star eventually proved his quality for Les Merlus. After Breel Embolo put Lorient in front in the 61st minute, Dango Ouattara scored equalized for Lorient 14 minutes later.

Before Monaco could regain their balance, Lorient struck again, and it was Moffi that showed his brilliance.

Ouattara showed was at the heart of it again teeing up Moffi, who showed great composure to finish cleanly from close range.

Unfortunately for Lorient, they could not hold on to their lead, as Wissam Ben Yedder scored at the death to ensure it ended 2-2.

Meanwhile, in the English EFL Cup, Emmanuel Dennis helped Nottingham Forest to their first Cup semi-final appearance in over 30 years after they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties.

Willy Boly put Forest in front in the 18th minute. However, Raul Jimenez equalized for Wolves in the 64th minute.

Dennis was introduced into the game in the 68th minute for Forest to add some bite to the attack. Still, both teams held out for the 1-1 draw.

The Super Eagles striker registered 15 touches, one dribble, and two tackles for Nottingham Forest. The game eventually progressed to penalties, and the Tricky Trees emerged on top 4-3 on penalties.

Dennis came into the game for Forest in the 68th minute to give some bite to the assault, and he was successful in doing so. Despite this, the game ended in a 1-1 tie between the two sides.
