Iwobi helpless as Everton’s rotten run continues

Iwobi started the season well at Everton, but he has been unable to help them in recent weeks

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi played all 90 minutes, but his efforts were insufficient, as Everton fell to a painful 2-0 defeat against West Ham.

Everton started the season well, and Iwobi was their focal point in midfield. The Toffees lost just twice in their opening eight games of the season, and Iwobi was instrumental in that run supplying four assists and one goal in that period.

However, Frank Lampard’s lads have slipped since that period. Everton had lost eight of their previous eight Premier League games, but they were looking to change that at the London Stadium.

Unfortunately, they were up against a better West Ham side. A first-half brace from Jarrod Bowen ensured that West Ham ran out winners.

Iwobi had a good game in the middle of the park. They bossed the midfield, but Everton lacked the cutting edge.

Iwobi hit the woodwork once, he had 109 touches, and 74 touches. The Nigerian star also won five of his seven duels. Still, his effort was not enough as the Toffees fell to a fourth consecutive loss.
