The Slavists allowed one Nigerian youngster to leave the club a few days ago but have moved to acquire another albeit in a different position
Slavia Prague have completed the signing of young Nigerian defender Igoh Ogbu, the club announced on their official website.
A few days ago, Slavia sanctioned the sale of exciting Nigerian attacker Yira Sor to KRC Genk for a fee believed to be €4.50m.
But the Slavists have continued their association with Nigerian players by securing the signature of former Flying Eagles centre-back Igoh Ogbu. The 22-year-old will team up with compatriots Peter Olayinka and Moses Usor.
Ogbu joins the former Czech champions from Lilleström for €1.7m on a four-year deal that will keep him in Eden until December 31, 2026.
Slavia Prague manager Jindrich Trpisovsky has expressed his delight in the signing of the former Gombe United starlet.
“He is a player we have been talking about for a long time, we were already interested in him during the summer transfer window,” Jindrich said.
“He really caught our attention, but unfortunately it didn’t work out in the summer for many reasons.
“Our interest continued, we continued to follow him. After long and complicated negotiations, the transfer has now been successful.
“We are really happy about it, he is the player we were looking for typologically.”
