Watch: “Where are the Super Eagles”- asks foreign supporters at the 2022 World Cup

The Super Eagles’ absence from the World Cup is being questioned by football fans as a sign of how much they are missed.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar has shown that it is one of the events that offer the ideal environment for sports fans, players, and the world at large.

The Super Eagles, who lost to Ghana in the World Cup qualifying matches, have missed this, however.

According to Soccernet.ng, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were beaten by the Black Stars of Ghana in a two-legged contest, with the away goal deciding the outcome.

It was originally said that the first Leg, which took place in Kumasi, Ghana, came to a toothless tie. Arsenal midfielder,  Thomas Partey, scored an away goal in the second half with a long-range shot that the goalkeeper for Omonia FC, Francis Uzoho, was unable to save.

Although Nigerian defender William Troost Ekong levelled the scoreboard at the MKO Abiola Stadium with a goal, this was insufficient to guarantee Nigeria a place in Qatar.

However, the Super Eagles players and other Nigerians’ pains have only been made worse by the lack of the green-white-green colour shirt around the Qatari stadium.

In a video shared by Naija_footballers, football supporters could observe international sports enthusiasts pleading for the Super Eagles to participate in the Mundial competition.

The Sports enthusiasts said:

“in Qatar 2022, where are the super eagles?”

He said, “Sending love to you guys; my father grew up in Ibadan,

He emphasized, “I’d love to visit Nigeria one day,”

The next World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico under a new model that the Football Association of International, FIFA, is aiming to establish.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will now have a better chance of qualifying for the World Cup in 2026 after losing out on the 2022 tournament.
