“Nigerian Batman” – Super Eagles star rated ‘better than Benzema’ receives stunning fans’ praise after superb strike

The country’s most valuable player turned on the magic in Turkey at the weekend to lead Il Partenopei to a come-from-behind win

Several football fans have applauded Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following his excellent goalscoring display for Napoli in a friendly win over Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

With the Italian Serie A on a break due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Napoli have camped in Turkey where they have played a couple of friendly games.

Luciano Spalletti’s men claimed a 3-2 win over Antalyaspor a few days ago before facing Premier League side Palace on December 11th.

Patrick Viera’s men took the lead through Ivoirian forward Wilfred Zaha but Osimhen smashed home the equaliser for Napoli shortly after.

The Super Eagles star received a pass with his chest and somehow managed to outfox two defenders with a delicate ball over his head before volleying home a fine finish from a tight angle.

Napoli went on to seal a 3-1 victory over the Eagles, following a second-half brace from Italian attacker Giacomo Raspadori.

Osimhen’s superb goal has, however, been earning rave reviews at home and abroad.

What are the fans and experts saying about Osimhen?

The Nigerian forward’s impact for Napoli during the first half of the Italian Serie A season has left an impression on Filippo Inzaghi.

The AC Milan great recently rated Osimhen as being a better centre-forward than Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and France’s all-time top goalscorer Olivier Giroud.

Many fans agree with Inzaghi that Osimhen is arguably the best striker in the game at the moment.

And a few took to social media site Twitter to voice their admission for the 23-year-old.

Implying that Osimhen has superpowers, one Twitter user wrote, “This Victor of a guy suppose be among the super heroes. Maybe like ‘Nigerian Batman’. Because I don’t understand Everytime e dey b like say war wan start for em side.”

“Victor you’re the best, what an amazing goal you’ve done. Can’t wait to see you play again on January,” another user said of Osimhen.

One fan said, “You play like you are doping, you are extraordinary.”

While yet another wrote, “Even for friendly, baba no dey joke ..lion for a reason.”

One or two Premier League fans urged Osimhen to consider moving to England.

“Bros – e go good 😊 to come EPL – I for like make Peter Drury run small commentary after one of your goals,” said Joseph.

One Red Devil fan was specific in his demands, though. He said, “Victor come Manchester united.”

Another Osimhen lover would have none of those transfer talks, though.

He wrote: “Achievement boy. Piece of advice please stay away from all this transfer rumours come January and end the season on high note in Napoli. Dream of getting that Golden boots in Seria a and even the trophy to your name before taking new challenge. Kudos boy.”

Osimhen and Napoli will conclude their friendly programmes for 2022 this weekend with a potentially exciting clash against Samuel Chuwkueze’s Villarreal.
