Liverpool ready to splash the cash on exciting Super Eagles star after sealing Gakpo deal

A host of Premier League clubs are in the race to snap up the Nigeria international but the Anfield giants appear in pole position to win the race for his signature

Premier League giants Liverpool are preparing to make an official bid for Villarreal wing wizard Samuel Chukwueze a few hours after sealing a move for Dutch forward Cody Gakpo.

Liverpool pulled off the first major deal of the winter transfer window with the signing of Cody Gakpo.

The Reds are believed to have paid PSV a fee between €40 and €50m for Gakpo whose stock increased significantly at the 2022 FIFA World Cup where he scored three goals in five appearances for the Netherlands.

And according to reports, Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze could be next on Liverpool’s shopping list as the Anfield club continues to revamp an attack decimated by the departure of Senegal’s Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich in the summer.

Liverpool are reportedly keen on Chukwueze, who has been on the club’s radar since emerging as one of the best teenagers at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile alongside Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward will offer Liverpool a player profile different from that which Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo already bring to the table.

The objective is clear: to give manager Jurgen Klopp several attacking possibilities to be deployed in his numerous game systems.

In the long term, Chukwueze can also be viewed as the permanent successor to Egyptian talisman Mo Salah.

However, according to the report, Liverpool are not the only Premier League club looking to bring Chukwueze to England.

League leaders Arsenal, Everton, and West Ham are among the suitors interested in the services of the 2021 UEFA Europa League winner.

Chukwueze, 23, currently has a market value of €20m but clubs may need to shell out around €50m to convince Villarreal to part with their prized asset.

Samuel chukwueze I will advise you to sign for arsenal or Everton that is if only the transfer rumour is true. Please do not sign for Liverpool. Go for a small club first and gain your ground in England before you go for any bigger club. Is for your own good, so that what happen to !heanachó in Manchester City will not repeat itself. I hope you understand. Do not take it as an insult. Thank you…

What are you saying sef…just limiting the young man cos he is a black man.

Fuck your opinion…the iheanacho that you are comparing him with had no experience before moving to City… Samuel chukwueze has been at Villarreal for 4 years..he deserves to move to any big club that comes calling.

      It’s about time!!!
