Osimhen has been brilliant for Napoli for the last 18 months, and the former World Cup winner believes he is one of the best in Italy
Former AC Milan and Juventus striker Filippo Inzaghi has praised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen for his qualities, and he feels that the Nigerian striker is one of the best in Serie A.
Osimhen left Lille for Napoli in 2020, in a deal worth €75million. The 23-year-old striker struggled to hit the ground running in his first season because of injuries.
However, in his second season, Osimhen was absolutely spectacular, scoring 18 goals in 32 appearances.
This season, the Nigerian striker has taken it a notch higher. He has been very consistent for the Partenopeans. Osimhen has registered ten goals in 14 games and he sits pretty at the summit of the scorers’ chart in Serie A.
2006 World Cup winner Inzaghi, who was a potent striker in his days is impressed with Osimhen’s quality.
“If we think of Napoli, Osimhen is a true center-forward”, Inzaghi said as per TuttoNapoli.
He attacks deep, and keeps the ball, Osimhen is probably the best right now. beyond Benzema, who however is less of an area center forward and perhaps than Giroud
Osimhen is on course to achieve immortality at Napoli. The Partenopeans sit at the top of Serie A, eight points clear of second-placed AC Milan.
The Partenopeans have not won the league in 30 years. If Osimhen leads the club to the Scudetto, his status as a cult hero will be cemented in Naples.
